NEW YORK – The 2024 Met Gala featured hundreds of celebrities dressed in your best clothes for fashion’s biggest night.
Florals took center stage on the green carpet as the stars arrived to one of the most star-studded places and secret festivals of the year.
The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s fundraising is reserved for the biggest names in fashion, film and art. Guests take risks, go big and try to steal the scene.
“It’s a celebration of creativity and individuality,” said Kylie Minogue.
O “Garden of Time” the dress code celebrated nature as a metaphor for the ephemerality of fashion.
“I am always honoring the garden of time by trying to stay in the present moment,” said Jonathan Groff.

There were a lot of great moments and great looks.
Cardi B needed eight trainers to help her dress up the museum stairs, Lana Del Ray came in a horn helmet, and Lizzo needed help turning her head.
The Met Gala marks the opening of the museum’s spring 2024 exhibition, called “Sleeping Beauties: Fashion Awakens.” 250 rare historical pieces will be on display, including some pieces so fragile that they cannot even be worn by mannequins.
“I heard that some of the pieces are incredibly old and fragile. So, I will make sure not to fall and topple any of the pieces in the exhibition,” said Alexander Skarsgård.
Actress Lily Gladstone worked with an indigenous designer on her dress featuring almost 500 silver stars.
“And they are all shaped like constellations that you would see on the Great Plains at the summer solstice,” Gladstone said.

Costume changes came from Demi Moore and Zendaya one of the hosts of the gala that walked the carpet not once, but twice.
“It is also a night that requires a lot of work and then a lot of support for the fashion industry, which for me is a total art,” said Penélope Cruz.
The night was not just for Hollywood’s hottest, but Broadway’s hottest too, including Tony-nominated leads from “Cabaret.”
“Tonight I’m on the water. It’s going to be a quiet night for me because I have a night off from the show,” said Eddie Redmayne.

“I’m honoring the original Sally Bowles, who iconically wore a beret like this, and I’m giving her flowers,” said Gayle Rankin.
Between the opulent outfits and star-studded lineup, it’s hard to compare the Met Gala for any other night.
“I’m looking forward to being with some friends,” Dan Levy said.
“When you step on the mat, it’s time to play, it’s Game 7. And hopefully at the end of the game I look at my stats, I hope I did well when I see the pictures coming out,” said the retired NBA star. Dwayne Wade.
A single ticket to this year’s Met Gala started at $75,000, with tables starting at $350,000. The gala is the Costume Institute’s main source of funding and raised $22 million last year.
